And is there really a sight better than watching your adorable little boo gulp down the last bit of the savories you specially hand made for him? Let’s bring in the spookiest season of them all with some special Halloween dog treats recipes that you can DIY at home!

NO-BAKE HALLOWEEN INSPIRED DOG TREATS

 

1. BANANA GHOST

These cutely spooky-looking Banana Ghosts make absolutely goofy dog treats that contain all dog-safe ingredients, including, a safer chocolate alternative- Carob.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 Bananas
  2. 1/2 cup Carob powder
  3. 1¼ cup Goat Milk
  4. 1 tsp honey
  5. Ice cream sticks or skewers with pointed edge cut off

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut the bananas in half from the middle and insert stick from the bottom of each piece to have the tapering side up
  2. Whisk the Carob Powder, goat’s milk and honey together to form a semi-thick paste
  3. Dip the bananas on skewer/ stick in the paste to coat it completely
  4. Refrigerate for a couple of hours
  5. Decorate as desired

FROZEN DOG TREATS

1. BOO-NANA MUMMY

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 Bananas
  2. Plain, unsweetened greek yogurt
  3. Honey
  4. Unsweetened Peanut Butter
  5. Ice cream sticks/ skewers with sharp edges cut off
  6. Piping bag
  7. Shredded coconut for decoration (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut the Bananas in half from the middle and insert the stick from the bottom to have tapering side up
  2. Mix the greek yogurt and honey together to have a creamy texture
  3. Dip the bananas in the yogurt, honey mix to coat them completely
  4. Put the peanut butter in the piping bag and create a bandage design on the dipped banans
  5. Freeze for a couple of hours

OFF-BEAT DOG TREATS

1. FRANKENSTEIN’S RICE KRISPIES

Is Halloween really complete without Frankenstein? Here’s a fun little treat recipe you can DIY for your little monster.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 4 cups Unsweetened rice Krispies
  2. Honey
  3. Green food coloring
  4. Carob paste made in goat milk
  5. 2 tb sp Unsalted butter
  6. You can use your dog’s kibble dipped in cream as eyes
  7. Coconut oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Melt Butter in a saucepan
  2. Add food coloring and honey and stir all three ingredients blend well into a liquid consistency
  3. Turn off gas and pour into a mixing bowl
  4. Add rice Krispies immediately and mix until all the Krispies are well coated and green
  5. Spray hands with non-stick cooking spray then shape rice Krispie treat mixture into little squares
  6. Add carob paste on top to make it look like Frankenstein’s head and a line of it as mouth
  7. Add coated kibbles as eyes

BAKED HALLOWEEN DOG TREATS RECIPES

1. BACON PUPCAKE

INGREDIENTS FOR 6 CUPCAKES

  1. 1 cup whole wheat or oats flour
  2. 1/2 cup goat milk
  3. 2 tbsp honey
  4. 1/3 cup peanut butter
  5. 2 tbsp applesauce (optional)
  6. 2 tbsp coconut oil
  7. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  8. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  9. 1 egg
  10. 2 strips bacon, cooked and cut in pieces

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except bacon and whisk until combined
  3. Add in bacon crumbles
  4. Spoon into muffin tin that is lined with cupcake wrappers
  5. Bake till muffins appear golden brown. It should take 18-20 minutes
  6. Insert a toothpick in the muffin. If it comes out clean, your muffins are ready
  7. Add some more bacon pieces on top to make it really appealing to your pup
